in an important state. mitt romney gives the keynote address at the new hampshire republican party at the state convention. they hold the first presidential primary, which is still 16 months away. romney is the first of three potential republican candidates targeting new hampshire. former mississippi governor hailey barber who is a republican chairman and fund-raiser with john stephen and former minnesota governor tim pawlenty will be there thursday campaigning for stephen. they all point to a dramatic shift. republicans could take control of the house. maybe the senate as well. that's fueling the drive toward the change. here is brian todd with the report.

>> reporter: it looks like a brawl in taiwan's parliament. this was in suburban las vegas after heckling got to a boil. supporters of sharron angle and backers of harry reid hauled off and hit each other. an isolated incident? what do you make of this? >> it's happening audiotape over the country. it's been happening for more than a year. people are upset with politics and the fact that washington hasn't fixed anything. >> they say when so many americans have friends and relatives that lost jobs during the recession, fears for their own outbeing lead to angry outburts. one poll shows republicans and independents are angrier than democrats. politicians are a popular target. take this smackdown from new

jersey's republican governor chris christie when they heckled at meg whitman. >> hey, listen. hey, listen. you know what? you want to yell, yell at me. we are here talking about the future of the state of california and the future of our country and you know what? you know what? let me tell you this? you know what, it's people who raise their voices and yelling and screaming like you that divide this country. we are here to bring it together, not divide it. >> how does it translate into a vote? >> it's going to play out well for the republican party. poll after poll after poll show republicans are animated and they are angry about what's going on in washington, d.c. midterms are the opportunity to change the direction of the country. >> reporter: angry voters turn out at the polls. this year, the republicans, the

same things they are. looking for some support. looking for funny stories and wanting to share the magic that is being a father. >> guys are responding the same way women are. they look for articles on potty training, how to get them to sleep, how to name the baby. there's a lot on relationship issues. there's a lot of things guys don't talk about with anybody after the baby is born. articles about sex after pregnancy. relationships change with the first baby. >> you don't hear about this a lot. go ahead. >> this role is completely reinvented. lots of men want to talk about it. there's not a previous generation to go to. you can't go to your dad. his form of fatherhood is different than today. it's new media and new fatherhood. >> this is a place to present

information about have a conversation with other dads about it to share the experience. they need to know there's other guys out there going through the same thing. >> we're not the peter griffin or homer simpson we are portrayed as. we are working, trying to provide. we are working at home, in a lot of cases. our role in the family is being real men. >> what real men means? right? that's part of what it means to be a real man now. guys get together and have poker night and talk. guys call each other. what it is about being online that's offering dads something? what do they want from the web? >> we are not going to pta and meeting other guys in the neighborhood as often as we should. the nights of poker night are not that easy. it's one quarter of the guys. on the web, you talk to guy that is you will never meet in person

and you can share ideas. >> when are they getting on blogs? my day is so busy. if you have kids, are they staying up late at 2:00 in the morning because they couldn't have sex? when are they getting online? >> they are saying i'm on the computer at work, but they are also say tlg's a huge segment of time, 30 minutes to two and a half hours a day where they are going online. >> what are the biggest things that you think in general people in society don't understand about dads? >> dads are so active in their kids lives. my kids come home, i help them with their homework. i'm the one doing it and signing forms and going places. i love it. i would have it no other way. that's the thing people miss. you see all the advertisements, the literature. itis always with the mom's slant on it. it's a slight. >> we are active and we are

competent. we are good fathers. >> i like changing my baby's diaper and getting the milk at night. it's a human thing whether a woman or man. it's a very human emotion. we want to promote that same feeling or that acceptance to other men to promote men being involved dads and also the larger society to see us that way. >> to give you a sense of how fast it's growing. a couple guys dropped their jobs. they are getting enough traffic and advertising on it, they are keeping busy enough for a full-time job. i have facebook and twitter. i have my page for you. you can check them out and post ideas. >> blown away. have we ever seen a greater transformation that what's happened over 20 or 30 years. my dad, my grandfather would come home from work and expect a

fresh baby presented on their lap. then you fast forward to my life, dora the explorer, sesame street. it looks like a hurricane. the kids running every place. >> look, a friend of mine, the other day, he's my age and his dad never changed a diaper in his life. he never changed a diaper in his life. this is a reminder of how much things changed. it's why dads are reaching out to each other. they need ideas. they want advice. you look like you are in shock. >> i had a different experience. my father was there and changed the diapers. i grew up with three boys. we learned how to cook and do laundry. >> there was cooking in your house? >> yeah. >> wow! >> i wonder who actually is visiting the site. i bet there's more women

checking up on what guys are doing than guys checking up on what other guys are doing. >> there are. i said how much of the time is it women wanting to know what should i expect out of my husband or how did you start doing these things. i can't get my husband to do that. they know, in a lot of cases who they are talking to. whether over skype or online. maybe secretly they are more comfortable on their own on a computer reaching out. i need help, i want to maximize my bonding time. it's divorcing, dating all this stuff. >> get off the web and xwo see your kids. >> hopefully, they are asleep by that hour. >> all right. >> good stuff, man. >> certainly interesting. brought us something new. that's for sure. thanks. >> you got it.

they strapped a bomb to a bank teller. the employee took out money and gave it to the bad guys. they fled. a bomb squad disarmed the explosi explosive. they are still looking for the thieves. a deepening sex scandal at one of the largest churches in the united states. long is denying the accusations. he says he will speak to his 25,000 followers tomorrow from the pulpit at new birth missionary baptist church. three astronauts back on earth after spending six months aboard the international space station. they landed safely this morning. the return came a day later than scheduled because of a technical glitch during undocking. a christian outreach concert scheduled for tonight at ft.

bragg, north carolina is crossing the line. general david petraeus worries muslims overseas may believe the military, the u.s. military represents the christian faith. the perception alone could put the lives of u.s. troops in danger. he's talking people that support islam calling it evil and wicked. it's held by billy graham and his son franklin graham. he said islam is evil and wicked. given the record, how will it play in the muslim world? will it be a problem for the commanders overseas? here is a special report from chris lawrence. >> reporter: it's called rock the fort. it's living up to its name. the billy graham evangelistic association is bringing

prosttize anyone from their particular faith they are a part of and the goal is not to co-hearse anyone. >> reporter: the chaplain says the event on his base is open to the public. no one has to come, except the thousands of soldiers and families who are excited to do so. >> really, it's up to the individual. people like any message or faith can choose to accept or reject. we are offering an invitation. it's only voluntary and of the free choice of that particular individual. >> reporter: the chaplain wrote on ft. bragg letterhead promoting the event. they wrote it's designed to channel new believers into your church. americans united for separation of church and state wrote the secretary of the army urging them to stop the endorsement of

the event. they said it's prohibits and the army is breaking the law by endorsing religion. he said it's for anyone who wants to come. the chaplain also told me sharing the faith is part of the christian tradition. he's not obligated but happy to provide the same on base if they want to put on a similar event. critics say, when it comes to religion, all the army is to do is officiate religious events and provide a place for worship. these concerts go way i don't think that. other military news, a federal judge reinstated an openly gay air force major. she was dismissed under the don't ask don't tell policy. she sued to get her job back. the air force honorably discharged her in 2007 over a relationship with another woman.

corn belt. that could bring more rain to parts of wisconsin. be advised there. now, as we make our way back to the southeast, here is the frontal boundary i was talking about. you get the muggy and moist air. on the other side, a shot of fall-like weather we have been expecting. it's a day or so away. if you are in st. louis or washington, it's going to be muggy. temperatures cooler. raleigh, one difference in the southeast, a shower or storm will make things cool down a bit. chicago, 52. 58 in minneapolis. still, fairly warm for you in parts of the desert, southwest. las vegas an phoenix, they say it's a dry heat, but hot is hot. the tropics have been relatively unstable especially with regard to tropical storm matthew. heavy rainfall. mud slides. flash flooding.

it could be a big mess there. another storm is a hurricane. hurricane lisa, is about to move farther to the north with cooler water. at the same time, sheer. this small hurricane with winds of 80 miles per hour expected to stay out of harm's way. it should die out in a matter of days. it's a quick snapshot around the nation. drew, back to you. >> thanks. we are going to up new york city now. they are adding hundreds of cameras to increase surveillance in the subway system. some argue if it's big brother taking over the big apple. first, another quick quiz from the forbes magazine list. the 400 richest in america. mayor michael bloomberg is worth which, 20 billion, 18 billion or 25.5 billion. you make the call. we'll have the answer after the break.

trying to get more milk from the herd. you have heard of music being used. how about a plasma tv in the barn? this farm put up six screens for a month-long experiment with ten cows. they are watching scenes of alpine pastures. ten other dairy cows had to go without. the tv-watching cows produced, on average a little bit more. just over five pints. the general manager says over a year's time, the investment in the screens could pay off. >> alpine scenes? >> i'm thinking they need -- >> movies. hot cows. something that would stimulate. >> why don't they just let the cows roam around in the alpine? >> that's a good idea. >> you are never too late to go to high school class.

new york's police commissioner says roughly 40% of terrorist attacks target transportation systems. now, the city is going to ramp up coverage to prevent that sort

of attack. here is mary snow. >> reporter: under ground at new york times square or penn city, cameras are now watching you. police may be as well. >> this is a coordination of in lower manhattan where we bring in thousands, literally, of video feeds. >> reporter: this is where we met up with new york city police commissioner, the goal to prevent terrorist crime. they monitor the surveillance cameras 24/7. 500 cameras have been added. the subway system has 5 million riders a day. terrorist attacks are focused on transportation systems. it's something, given the size and scope of the transit network we have here, we have to make it high priority. >> reporter: it has the nypd learning lessons from london where mayor bloomberg inspected

medicines they are abusing. we want to take that source away. number two, raise the awareness as well. >> here is the problem. if you just take the drugs you have and put them in the trash, then people rifle through the trash or kids get their hands on drugs that way. put them in a toilet it can contaminate the water supply. what happens to the water supply in america when they expose of drugs even when you chop them up. what officials are doing is creating locations in cities and towns all over the country. there are 3,400 locations. they are open from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. it's east time zone. you should have a good chunk of time in your day to go through your medications, figure out which ones you don't want. where the drugs are brought, authorities are watching over to make sure nobody does anything

in today's tough economy, dozens of companies trying to help out their customers by teaching them about financial literacy.

some companies offer services like these to attract new customers and new employees. bank of america teamed up with 100 black men of america to present a financial literacy job fair. it's right across the street. not only did they offer financial literacy tools, but 20 companies were on hand to recruit workers. more than 2,000 people showed up. clyde anderson was in the crowd. thanks for joining us. >> interesting, the topic with the recruiting involved. >> definitely. it's important right now. unemployment is at an all-time high. it's great to have an opportunity to have the employers out and compare them with employees or potential employees. it's great. right now, in these economic times, we need to understand how to manage our money. >> what happened over there. what were they getting out of the program? >> i think there's a lot of

things. we have a clip here. one of the ladies talked about why it was important. let's look at that. >> because we think it's very important that this generation understands financial responsibility and understands how they need to manage their finances, learn early so as they grow, they can manage credit, learn how to invest and plan for their futures, responsibly. >> i understand that whole heartedly. the founder of sims says an educated consumer is a better consumer. if they understand your programs, at the end of the day, they want more customers. for bank of america, it's crucial to have people understand their finances to be the ideal customer they are looking for. >> totally get that. you could come there to get a job. >> right. >> what was the recruitment angle of this? >> it's that they have these employees that are looking for

positions. people have been out of work for 12 months or 24 months or six months. it's interesting seeing someone that got a chance to talk to these employers. we have a young lady to look at here. >> i have been working on obtaining better education skills. improving interviewing skills. i come to find out you have to have a degree. very important. i have many years of experience with administrative work. however, the degree is what's stopping me because the fact that so many people are out of work right now. the ones that have the degree with the experience are the ones getting the jobs. >> that's true. it's what people are finding. the pool is huge. you are competing against a lot of people. stand out. dot your is and cross your ts. >> people are sharp and serious

about it. in terms of looking at it with a silver lining, savings are up. >> yeah. >> credit is down. is there a change in how we, the american consumer are looking at finances and maybe positively, when we do pull out of this? >> i think so. i think it's very crucial. right now, these times, desperate times call for desperate measures. they aren't focused so much on their money. they are trying to stretch their dollars. we are getting at american people are starting to understand the value of a dollar and how to make the dollar stretch. we were doing a lot of overspending in the past. hopefully, it's been cut down and we have learned our lessons. >> they can't bank on their homes, which was their bank when refinancing. credit is tight. how do you find these job fairs, these financial fairs? >> we talked to someone from the department of labor. look into your department of

problems for the pastor of an atlanta area megachurch. a fourth teenager is accusing eddie long of coercing him in a sexual relationship. he says it happened in 2005 and continued four years after that. he's the pastor of a baptist church with a congregation of over 25,000 people here in atlanta. he denies the allegations. they say they are going to rally around him and pray for him. >> i don't know what the outcome is. i just don't know. but, i do know the church and i do know the impact and i do know that as a believer that somebody needs to make a stand. and to say something and that's all i'm doing. i'm calling for the church to come together. >> there's a developing story, some political and antiwar
